Midwest Sprint Association (MSA)

Minnesota / Upper Midwest • 1973-1980 confirmed • Historical

Midwest Sprint Association (MSA) was a Minnesota-based sprint-car sanctioning organization established in 1973. Midwest Racing News reported that the new group planned more than 40 events in Minnesota and Wisconsin in its first season. Contemporary MRN and later historical sources document MSA championship competition through 1980. North Star Speedway was a principal home track; its closure after the 1979 season contributed heavily to the organization folding after an abbreviated 1980 season.
